Note: Virtual Name Servers are included
with Reseller 1, 2, or 3. They are not included with
the Reseller Starter.
If you are not using virtual
name servers, you should use our generic name-servers:
Primary: ns1.hosting-advantage.com
Primary IP: 64.92.113.1
Secondary: ns2.hosting-advantage.com
Secondary IP: 64.92.114.1
Step 1: Get Name-Server
IP Address. Login to your Reseller Admin Page. Click on E.
Manager. Click
on the sub-menu called Server Aliases. Your Virtual
Name-Servers are listed at the top. An IP address should
be listed to the right. If it is not, click the 'submit'
button and then it will be listed. These are the
IP
addresses of your 2 virtual name servers.
Step 2: Register
Name Servers. Your name servers have to be registered by
your domain registrar. If NetFronts
is your domain registrar, submit a request using the "Support
Center" link in your top-level reseller login page.
For other registrars, you will possibly need to fill
out a special form and they will register
the name servers
for you. They will need the IP address and the name server
name.
Step 3: Test Name Servers.
Use the link below to test your name server. The example
link below tests ns1.hosting-advantage.com
and a domain hosted on our system. You should replace
the name server with your name server and a domain that you
have setup in your account.

Step 4: Transfer
Primary Domain DNS. Be sure that your primary domain that
you are using for server aliases
is
pointed at either your new name servers above or to ns1.hosting-advantage.com
and ns2.hosting-advantage.com. You can see what this domain
is by logging into your Reseller Admin account and click
on E. Manager > Server Aliases. The
domain listed on the left side (under Reseller's DNS server
aliases) should be your primary hosting
domain.
The reason for this is
that any domains that you point to your name servers will
also reference parts of your
primary domain. Example, mail.customer-domain.com points
to mail.your-primary-domain.com which then points to
our servers. If you transfer customer-domain.com to the new
name servers before transferring your own domain name,
it won't work properly.
Step 5: Transfer Domains to your name-servers.
